E-SPORTS: HIGHLIGHTING COLLABORATIVE LEARNING IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A DIGITAL GAMES

Abstract: e-Sports are a competitive aspect of digital games with a professional approach, with characteristics similar to traditional sports. That said, we aim to identify how the process of building a digital games tournament by high school students from a private school can develop collaborative learning. This experience lasted for five weeks, culminating in a League of Legends tournament. As a research methodology, a qualitative approach of the descriptive type was adopted. To collect the data produced, a field diary was used. The data were systematized in conceptual maps categorized into: autonomy, interaction and collaboration. In general, we can conclude that the approach adopted to outline the construction of the tournament promoted an environment that provided collaborative learning based on the interaction, autonomy and collaboration of students during the construction of the tournament.
